General Election Results

Candidates – Voters of the City of Tucson will elect a Mayor and Council Members representing Ward 1, Ward 2, and Ward

Proposition 413 – A proposed amendment to the Tucson Charter to adjust the annual current salary of the Mayor and Council Members.  If approved by the voters it would take effect on December 4, 2023.

The November 7, 2023, City of Tucson General and Special Election will be conducted as a consolidated Vote by Mail election administered by Pima County. For information relating to early and mail ballot voting, please visit the Pima County Recorder’s Office at https://www.recorder.pima.gov/RecorderHome. For information relating to your polling place or to work the Election, please visit the Pima County Elections Department at: https://www.pima.gov/394/Elections.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CANDIDATES TO KNOW:

  • Candidates and potential candidates must file a Candidate Statement of Interest form with the City Clerk’s Office not later than the date of the first nomination petition signature.
  • Candidates who wish to participate in the City of Tucson Public Matching Funds program must sign a contract with the City Clerk’s Office within 30 days of becoming a candidate.

How the Mayor and Council are Elected

Council Members are nominated by the ward they wish to represent in the primary election and are elected to the city council at-large in the general election. The Mayor is elected by the voters at-large.

The Mayor and Council Members for Wards 1, 2, and 4 are elected in the same year, while Council Members for Wards 3, 5, and 6 elect their Council Members in the same year.

Elections occur every two years, and the Mayor and Council Members serve four-year terms. There are no term limits for these elected officials.
