Buffalo Soldiers Memorial Plaza

The memorial's mission is to educate the Tucson community about the rich history of the Buffalo Soldiers and honoring their contributions and positive impact on defending the nation and settling Southern Arizona and other Western states. The site features a granite monument, interpretive signage, seating, and flagpoles. The memorial was unveiled in May 2021 and was the first of its kind to be voter-approved and funded, in-park, as a project of the 2018 Tucson Delivers: Parks Connections Bond Program. Additional funding for the memorial was provided through donations made to the GSAAC of the Buffalo Soldiers.
