EnerGov permitting system has been selected to replace PERMITS Plus

Published on December 03, 2018

The City of Tucson has selected Tyler Technologies’ EnerGov permitting system to replace the more than twenty-year old Permits Plus program. City staff went through a competitive procurement process to find a system that best meets the City’s collective needs for effective process management, enhanced transparency, improved coordination between Departments, extensive utilization of GIS, and integration with other programs such as financial, document management, and reporting systems. An evaluation committee reviewed the proposals received, took part in demonstrations by the shortlisted firms, and assisted in scoping discussions during contract negotiations. Additional members provided input throughout the selection process. The current users of Permits Plus, Planning and Development Services Department, Transportation Department, Tucson Fire, and Environmental Service’s Code Enforcement section, will move to the new system, along with new users Tucson Water and Business Licenses. The implementation of Tucson’s new permitting system is estimated to take approximately 20 months to complete.
