On March 31, 2024, Lead Police Officer Adam Buckner lost his life in the line of duty while responding to a priority call.

At approximately 10 p.m., LPO Buckner was headed north on Campbell Avenue. His emergency lights and siren were activated. As he was going through the intersection at 6th Street, a single-occupant vehicle failed to yield, and a collision occurred.

Community members and fellow officers rendered first aid and CPR at the scene until Tucson Fire arrived and transported him to Banner UMC, where he passed away from his injuries.

Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
