A critical incident is any actual or alleged event or situation that creates a significant risk of harm, or actual harm, to the physical or mental health of an individual, or otherwise jeopardizes the safety of the community.
The boards used by the Tucson Police Department to review critical incidents are the Force Review Board (FRB) and the Sentinel Event Review Board (SERB). These replace the previous Critical Incident Review Board (CIRB). All boards include diverse members of the community, as well as department members.
