The Department of Transportation and Mobility (DTM) has teamed up with the University of Arizona College of Architecture, Planning and Landscape Architecture (CAPLA) for a pilot project to collect data on the performance of cool pavements. This pilot project includes a PlusTI asphalt rejuvenator treatment that is scheduled to be applied on Wednesday, December 15, on Country Club Road between Broadway and Aviation Parkway. This application will be the first cool pavement treatment applied in Tucson! Work will take place between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day and is expected to be complete by Friday, December 17. There will be lane restrictions during the work, with one lane maintained in each direction. Crews will return in January 2022 to crack seal and restripe the roadway.
